Barcelona Day 7

The last full day of our Spanish tour is also the busiest! After an early breakfast and coach pick-up we arrived at Barcelona Cathedral to take part in Mass. There was a large congregation and they were very appreciative, as were the geese in the cloister near where we changed and rehearsed.

We then had a little time to explore the square and the market before meeting up for lunch in a very friendly tapas restaurant. The staff were very friendly and there was plenty of food to suit everyone.

Time to explore the beautiful city park and relax was followed by a guided tour of the famous Sagrada Familia. everyone was impressed by the size, the many carvings and statues on the external facades and the wonderful light and spaciousness inside this amazing building.

Then we had time for a short rehearsal in the Crypt Church of the Sagrada Familia before a quick tea and our final performance of the tour.

We had been invited to sing for evening Mass and then to give a recital afterwards. It felt like a great honour to sing in this amazing venue and a fitting finale for our musical tour.
