Netherlands Tour 2023- Day 2

We ticked off some culture today as we headed to Amsterdam to be tourists! After a lovely continental spread for breakfast, it was straight to Amsterdam and the Royal Palace. We split into 3 groups for our guided tours and learnt all about the history of the Palace (and former Town Hall) along with facts about Roman and Greek myths. After a rather damp break for lunch, it was time for the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam’s main art gallery. We found The Night Watch by Rembrandt and Self-Portrait by Van Gogh as well as Dolls Houses, Delft ceramics and other amazing artefacts. As if that didn’t sound busy enough, we continued on to a cruise along the Amsterdam canals where we got to see many interesting pieces of architecture, including the dancing houses! We rounded off our day in Amsterdam with dinner surrounded by the greats at the Hard Rock Café before heading home for an early night so we can be ready for fun tomorrow.
