Netherlands Tour 2023- Day 5

Today was the day we’ve been waiting for- concert day! We had an early start to make sure we got into Amsterdam with enough time to rehearse before the 10:30 service at The English Reform Church. As a result of this, we enjoyed our packed breakfast on the coach! We sang a selection of songs before the service including favourites such as Distant Land and then we sang The Lord is My Shepherd and Gloria as part of the service. They welcomed us to join them for tea, coffee and cake after. Before long, it was time to meet the coach to transfer to Edam (which we learnt was pronounced eh-dam, not ee-dam!) where we had a wander through the town, buying more souvenirs and lunch. Many of us can now say that we have eaten Edam cheese in Edam! We returned to the church for a quick rehearsal before our free concert. The concert was very well attended and included many songs including solos and a selection of different group songs. After it finished, it was back to the hotel to start packing up our suitcases and tidying our rooms to make sure we were ready for tomorrow’s journey home! Dinner tonight was at a local beach side restaurant where we enjoyed our last dinner as a group before heading back to sleep and prepare ourselves for the journey.
