Tour to the Rhine 2024

Day 5

Concert day! We left a rainy Boppard and drove to Altenberg Cathedral, Odenthal in time for a rehearsal before lunch.

The Cathedral is the former abbey church, built in 1259 and is one of the most beautiful gothic churches in Germany with towering ceilings and stunning stained glass windows.

We were amazed by the sheer number of people who came to listen to us and they were clearly pleased with what they heard as we had a standing ovation!

Buoyed by the good feedback we got back on the coach to Boppard. This time the rain was even harder but we made it back to Boppard and allowed the children a quick shop for travel snacks before reaching the hotel.

Tomorrow is an early start so everyone took the opportunity of an early night.
