Tour to The Rhine 2024

Day 1

Day One started in the dark, early in the morning as we left Southend High School. Next stop Dover - or so we thought! Several hours later and a second coach arrived. We had been able to watch the sunrise with a McDonald’s breakfast and despite problems with the original coach we all safely arrived in time for a ferry to Calais.

It was a very long journey across France, Belgium and Germany. We had a lovely meal at a motorway services and finished our journey back in the darkness, admiring the full blood red moon as it rose over the mountains. We were all ready for bed and looking forward to seeing the Rhine properly in the morning.
