Tour to The Rhine 2024

Day 2

After breakfast and making our packed lunches, we were back in the coach heading for Marksburg Castle. This is one of the most complete castles remaining in the Rhine Gorge. We had an excellent tour guide, who showed us around and made the medieval castle come to life!

Following this we headed back to Boppard to catch the river boat for a trip down the Rhine to St Goar. The trip was very relaxing, with amazing views of picturesque towns and castles We landed at St Goar and went to visit the largest free-hanging wooden hand-carved cuckoo clock. Many of us enjoyed an ice-cream or cold drink in the sunshine before the trip along the river to Boppard.

We enjoyed a three course dinner and headed to our rooms for an early night.
